Blessing Bags Program

Trinity Co-op Preschool is partnering with the ELCA Outreach Center in a service project with the Points of Light Foundation to create service learning opportunities for families with young children designed to meet a need in their community. We have chosen childhood hunger and will be making “blessing bags” to be distributed to children that attend the ELCA Outreach summer camp. Each blessing bag will contain food items that the child can eat over the weekend. Many of these children come from low income families and are in need of extra food on days that they don’t get the meal provided at camp.  Trinity will be collecting items throughout May to assist with this project.
Please consider donating some of the following items:
Granola Bars
Boxed Macaroni and Cheese
Fruit Cups
Instant Oatmeal Packages
Single serving packages of the following:
       Cheese or peanut butter crackers
       Cheez-Its or Goldfish crackers
       Pretzels or Chex Mix
       Trail Mix
       Slim Jims
If you would prefer to make a monetary donation we are hoping to purchase fresh fruit to include on the morning of distribution. There is a marked bin in the gathering space to collect food items. Monetary donations can be left in the Preschool Office or in the Church Office in the Preschool mail box. We will host packing parties in June and July. If you have any questions, contact Lea Ann Taber or Russ Hahn.  Thank you.
