Trinity-Internship Site in 2019? Pastor Kara Baylor from Carthage and Pastor Tom are in early discussions of partnering together to share a seminary intern from LSTC next year. The cost is $30,000. Carthage will pay $18,000, Trinity $12,000. More information will follow. For now, please pray about this opportunity and how we might assist in training a future leader of the church.
Lenten Soup and Bread Suppers We need people who are willing to make soup and bring it for the five Wednesday evenings in Lent, after Ash Wednesday. We’d like at least six soup makers each week. Please sign up to make enough soup to feed at least 20 people. Thank you.
New Partner Orientation Our next welcome session for persons interested in joining Trinity will take place on March 15th at 6:00 pm. There are many things to know about Trinity but we mostly want to get to know each other! Council members will be present to share information about their respective areas of ministry. Can't make it? All children ages 3 years to 5th grade are welcome. Children’s Choir is at 9:00 am. Sunday School is from 9:30 -10:30 am.

Short-Term Ministry Opportunity Council is looking for three or four persons willing to serve for 90 days on The Social Media Infrastructure Team. With our new website and Facebook page, new systems are needed to ensure both are kept fresh and current. We want them to have a Trinity ‘feel.’ Please contact Sandy Butler or Pastor Tom for more information.
Pastor Tom’s Book Club Start the year with a good read. Pastor Tom selected Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis by J.D. Vance. We’ll meet Sunday, February 4th after worship to share reflections.
Trinity’s Annual Congregational Meeting takes place on Sunday, January 28th at 11:00 a.m. in the Great Hall. Plan to attend and be inspired! Hear the great story of Trinity’s 2017. Team and Ministry leaders please submit your ministry reports to Marita ASAP!

Collecting Items for the Dayton Facility All year-long, we collect items for residents of the Dayton Assisted Living Facility, including men’s underwear (LG, XL and 2XL t-shirts and briefs) hats, socks, Biotene, Chap stick, non-alcoholic mouthwash, body wash, stamps, envelopes, playing cards and batteries. A basket for these items is located in the gathering space. Thank you.
Claiming Our Baptismal Identity – Doing Justice As baptized children of God, we’re sent into the world to participate in God’s mission of life. One way this participation takes shape is combatting the injustice of systemic racism. Our Social Justice Ministry Team is offering the following events to inspire each of us to live more fully into our identity as God’s beloved.
Black History Month Following 9:30am worship today, our Social Justice Ministry team will show a short selection of excerpts from speeches by King and other civil rights leaders in the sanctuary. Join us. Be inspired. Do justice.
Job Opportunity Carthage will be looking for a 20 hour a week program assistant for the Center for Faith and Spirituality for 2018-2019. This would pay about $12 an hour starting mid-August through the end of May, with time off when the campus is closed (Christmas, Spring Break) and maybe a few other weeks. Making Sleeping Mats for the Homeless. CUSH is sponsoring an interfaith event, “Weaving Our Common Threads”, during which people will crochet/plarn sleeping mats for the homeless. The event is taking place on Saturday, February 17th from 1 pm to 8 pm in the Great Hall of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 5900 7th Ave., Kenosha. Volunteers are needed in 2-3 hour slots to help make the mats, organize supplies, organize food tables, help transport homeless citizens, and other tasks.
