Dalton will be arriving in Kenosha at the end of July. A welcome will be held after the July 28th worship service. In his own words…

“I am excited to begin my internship with you all from 28 July 2019 to 19 July 2019. I am looking forward to meeting you all and the opportunities we will have to get to know each other in the coming year. I have been told that we are calling this “The Year of Learning,” and I am sure we will all learn a lot from each other. I hope this letter will serve as an introduction to help you all get to know me a little before I arrive.

I grew up in Franklin County, Virginia. Franklin County is mostly rural and surrounded by mountains. The largest city nearby is Roanoke, Virginia. Since my childhood, I have loved playing in nature, including hiking mountains, roaming through forest, and swimming. Unfortunately, since moving to Hyde Park two years ago, I have not had many opportunities to enjoy nature.

Another of my loves since childhood has been mathematics. As a result, when I went to college at William and Mary, I studied mathematics. Additionally, I also minored in Judaic studies. While at William and Mary, I first experienced my call to ministry. I was sitting in the pews after church asking, “I’m here at college now, so what’s next?” Seminary came into my head and never left. I went straight from college to LSTC (the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago).

Soon after arriving at LSTC, I met Ashley Rosa. We started dating and are now engaged and planning a wedding for October 2020. Below is a photo of us, I’m on the left. We love spending time together: walking, cooking, or hosting parties. Some of my personal hobbies are chess, Pokémon, twisty puzzles (like the Rubik’s cube), and sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys.”
Smile,
Dalton B. Ruggieri
