Reconciling in Christ

In February 2016 Trinity Lutheran Church declared itself to be a Reconciling in Christ church.

We at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church celebrate and value each person as formed in the image of God. We seek to follow Jesus by sharing God’s all-encompassing love that invites all people into God’s Beloved Community.
We acknowledge that throughout history, the Christian church has not always upheld these teachings and has condemned people due to their differences. While progress has been made, there continues to be condemnation and exclusion of people in the church due to race, age, socioeconomic class, culture, sexual and romantic orientation, gender identity and expression, disability, neurotype, relationship status, citizenship and immigration status, background, and experience.
We, therefore, embrace diversity, work toward healing where there has been harm, pursue racial equity, and welcome all members of the LGBTQIA+ community into our church family. As a Reconciling in Christ (RIC) church, we commit ourselves to ongoing education, honest reflection and growth, and the compassion and courage to act. We welcome all people into the full life and ministry of the church as we work to embrace each person’s voice, gifts, and calling. We believe that through the beautiful diversity God created, we all can grow and practice a unity of faith that celebrates all people. We ask God’s spirit to guide us in living out the ministry of reconciliation.
