Seminary Intern 2019 Part of Trinity’s commitment as a teaching parish is providing a team of lay leaders who agree to meet monthly with the intern to hear concerns, process questions and offer support. We need four to five persons to participate with one serving as a leader. Please contact Pastor Tom for more information. Exciting!

Blessing Bags Trinity Co-op Preschool is partnering with the ELCA Outreach Center to make “blessing bags” to be distributed to children that attend the ELCA Outreach summer camp. Thank you to everyone who donated items and helped pack the first round of blessing bags on Monday! We packed 360 Blessing Bags and have enough food items for 100 more. We are still seeking donations of trail mix and $25 to $50 Costco gift cards and monetary donations with which to buy fruit. Next Blessing Bag Packing Party will be on July 11th . Please watch for details. For more information, contact Lea Ann Taber at (262) 694-5192 or ltaber@trinitykenosha.org In addition to our Blessing Bag Ministry, Trinity is also providing snacks for the ELCA Outreach Camp for four days the week of July 2-6. We are seeking monetary donations so we can purchase the items. A total of $100 should do the trick.

FLASH GIVING OPPORTUNITY A good deal presented itself and Council acted quickly: new light fixtures for the Education Building. (Think SS School, Choir, and Counting Rooms) Total cost: $3,900.

Saturday Morning Bible Study, “Traveling Light” May 12th, 8:30-10:00 a.m., upstairs Room 203 (meets the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month) Most of us love to travel. What we hate is the baggage we carry with us, but what if you could travel through life with no baggage at all? In May, we begin a new study with the DVD series “Traveling Light” by Max Lucado with the 23rd Psalm as our guide. All are welcome. Bring your own experiences and favorite Bible (or we have extra) as we meet over our morning coffee, provided. Saturday Study will not meet the 4th Saturday, April 28th. The next planned meeting is May 12th. For additional information, call or text Tammie at 914-2111 or email tammiesorenson@yahoo.com.

The Rock On Which We Stand  Council is developing a plan to address various deferred maintenance issues.  We’re calling it the Rock On Which We Stand (ROWWS). We welcome participation in this process by volunteering as well as giving financial gifts to the ROWWS campaign. Please speak with Paul Roskres or Bruce Milne for more information on ways you can help. Together, we are participating in God’s mission of life.  Thank you and thank God for you.

The Youth, Family and Church Ministry is happy to announce our partnership with the HABITAT FOR HUMANITY organization of Kenosha. Their mission statement is “Seeking to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, community, and hope.” Trinity will be offering our support in the building of new homes and by supporting their fundraising efforts.

Fundraising Form – To assist with fundraising, we have created a new form for logging donations.  This will protect those doing the fundraising and those donating money.  The form and monies collected will be submitted every day the fundraiser is going on.  Except for unforeseen circumstances, money should never leave the church.  This will protect everyone from money being misplaced or lost.  The new forms and instructions will be posted on the website and be available in the office.  We thank you in advance for your cooperation and would appreciate any feedback on the form and instructions.  Bruce Milne – President Church Council.

WELLNESS INCLUDES FAITHFUL FINANCES    We want to enter the summer months strong and healthy.  Please give generously with joy and gratitude.

Quilters and Crafters It’s time to start making an item for the August Lutherdale Auction.  We will deliver things to the camp June 1st.  Please drop off at the church office.

Trinity-Internship Site in 2019? Pastor Kara Baylor from Carthage and Pastor Tom are in early discussions of partnering together to share a seminary intern from LSTC next year. The cost is $30,000. Carthage will pay $18,000, Trinity $12,000. More information will follow. For now, please pray about this opportunity and how we might assist in training a future leader of the church.
